Pop’s Tavern is located, as they used to say, just on the edge of town. To hear the best country music, you have to head out of the city, and so it goes with the best country bar. Pulling up to Pop’s with its decades-old glowing neon sign is like visiting a roadhouse from another era. Inside, the walls are decorated with photos of country performers, both national and local, going all the way back to the ‘60s and ‘70s. There’s also a stage fronted by a wagon wheel and live country music on the weekends. Pop’s maintains its roadhouse feel with a pool table in the back and an unfussy, standard beer menu.
