The Roland Park location of Video Americain, the beloved video store with a deep collection that inspired both customers and clerks to learn more about film (read our oral history from this week's paper), has extended the sale of its remaining stock until March 21.
Initially, owners Barry and Annie Solan were going to close shop last Sunday. Reached by phone, Barry says they decided to push the date back due to the buzz surrounding the City Paper story and the success of the sale, which includes 40 percent off DVDs and VHS tapes, even leaving open the possibility of extending it further.
"Plus, you think you're ready to close, emotionally, but then you're not ready," he added.
