WEDNESDAY: Drake sidekick PartyNextDoor warbles drugged-out R&B at Baltimore Soundstage. Don't miss: Br'er plays the Windup Space with Neru Isis, Laughing Man, Elon, Amadou Kouyate, and IRA.*
THURSDAY: Swedish progressive house DJ and producer Eric Prydz headlines Baltimore Soundstage. Folk troubadour Brian Kay holds a release party at The Cabaret at Germano's for his new CD, "Three Ravens." Local grindcore band Musket Hawk plays the Sidebar with Disparo!, Mind As Prison, and Bestial Evil. Baltimore Boredom features Jeff Carey, Phanton Lanterns, and DJ ShawnSmallwood, comes to the Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge in Annapolis before a weekend of dates in Philadelphia and Delaware. Local punk/metal quartet Ratboiler plays Holy Frijoles with Flying Eyes.* Don't miss: Bassist Michael Formanek and saxophonist/clarinetist Marty Ehrlich give a rare and intimate duo performance upstairs at Bertha's Mussels in Fells Point.
FRIDAY: The Creative Alliance at the Patterson presents a release party for Letitia VanSant & The Bonafides' new album "Parts & Labor." The Ottobar has a local bill with a wide variety of rootsy music including Ultra Faux's gypsy jazz, the Highland Hill Boys' bluegrass, and 99 ½ Blues Band. New Jersey punk quartet Crazy & The Brains play the Sidebar with Juicy Karkass. Spanish jazz vocalist Eva Cortes performs at An die Musik Live in support of her latest album, "In Bloom." Don't miss: The Crown presents an extremely varied bill of underground Baltimore MCs, including Eze Jackson, 83 Cutlass, Butch Dawson, Drew Scott, and PT Burnem.
SATURDAY: Local thrash bands Radical Discharge and Enemy Insects hold a release party at the Metro Gallery for their new split 12-inch on Unholy Anarchy Records, with a special opening set from a reunitedTrashkanistan. Yan Pascal Tortelier conducts the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. The Creative Alliance at the Patterson presents a Brazilian carnival celebration with Washington, D.C. bandForrobodo and DJs Luiz Luoco and Miguel De Amor. Jazz drummer E.J. Strickland leads his quintet at An die Musik Live. The seventh Friends Fest at the Sidebar features venue regulars Tunnelbike!, Cowabunga Pizza Time, Thee Lexington Arrows, and more. Indie hip-hop veteran Aesop Rock performs at Rams Head Live with Rob Sonic and Homeboy Sandman. Progressive soul band Sojourne performs at The Cabaret at Germano's.The Bridge and The Shakes play Baltimore Soundstage's Concert For Hope 9 to benefit Hopewell Cancer Support. Don't miss: Church & Company hosts a bill of offbeat local pop including the lounge sounds ofSweepstakes, the experimental R&B of Blacksage, and the ambitious indie of Joseph & The Beasts.
SUNDAY: Saxophonist Brad Linde pays tribute to the seminal 1950s recordings of Jimmy Giuffre at An die Musik Live. Odd Future-affiliated California punk band Trash Talk and New York underground hip-hop trio Ratkingperform at the Ottobar along with experimental hip-hop and electronica producer Lee Bannon. Louisiana Cajun band Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys make their first Baltimore appearance in several years at the Patterson Theater. Arizona alt-rock band Calabrese headlines the Metro Gallery with Biters, Ravagers, and The Recently Deceased. Local jazz band Butler Parks Hot Serenaders play depression-era sounds at The Cabaret at Germano's. Don't miss: Rapper Lil Durk, a star of Chicago's "drill" scene, headlines Baltimore Soundstage with Mack Murrell.
MONDAY: 98 Rock's Noise In The Basement features local rock at the Ottobar. Don't miss: Nostalgic New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem play Rams Head Live in support of their 2014 album "Get Hurt."
TUESDAY: Metal supergroup HELLYEAH plays Rams Head Live with Devour The Day. Orange County garage-rock band The Growlers headline the Ottobar. Don't miss: Holy Frijoles hosts a free show featuring West Coast Burger Records band Corners and local surf-rock band Beachmover.
WEDNESDAY: Jazz metal fusion guitarist Felix Martin headlines the Metro Gallery with Stinking Lizaveta and Dyse. Don't Miss: The Baltimore Boom Bap Society throws its monthly party at the Windup Space, with hosts DJ Dubble8 and Wendel Patrick on the turntables and a cast of musicians and vocalists joining in.
