THURSDAY: Hip-hop duo Black Disciple & King Who, the former from Baltimore and the latter from New Jersey, performs at the Windup Space with Akenehs Sivad and Reservoir Dogs. Australian rockers California Cousin play the Charm City Art Space with Sailors Mouth and Of Apollo. Black Rose Metal Heart presents a loud and nasty bill at the Sidebar with Xtrophy, Cremains, Pestuary, Ashes of Rebirth, and more. Costa Mesa soul band Orgone plays the 8x10 with Funk Ark. Florida-based folk singer-songwriter Dan Stevens performs at Leadbetter’s in Fells Point. Don’t miss: the excellent local instrumental bands The Water and Time Columns play the Metro Gallery. 

FRIDAY: The Mad Decent Block Party returns to Merriweather Post Pavilion, with label founder Diplo bringing guests including Sleigh Bells, Dillon Francis, and Cashmere Cat. Heavy local band DuCru plays the Windup Space with Fine, Fine and Basement Flowers. Erstwhile Motley Crue singer John Corabi plays an acoustic solo show at Baltimore Soundstage. Indiana prog rockers Umphrey’s McGee headline Rams Head Live. West-coast backpack rap vets Jurassic 5 and Dilated Peoples bring their joint tour to Pier Six Pavilion. Cris Jacobs and friends celebrate the birthday of Jerry Garcia at the 8x10. Jeffrey Broussard & The Creole Cowboys throw a zydeco dance party at the Patterson. Emo band Taking Back Sunday plays on the Power Plant Live outdoor stage with The Menzingers and Modern Chemistry. Don’t miss: Baltimore hip-hop duo AK Slaughter plays an EP release party, also its farewell show, at the Metro Gallery with openers Soul Cannon, Mickey Free, and DJ Secret Weapon Dave. 

SATURDAY: The awesomely named local stoner-rock band Beelzefuzz plays the Sidebar with Black Finger, Iron Man, and more. Merriweather Post Pavilion hosts the Summer Spirit Festival, with headliners Lauryn Hill and Janelle Monae, as well as local go-go flavor from the Junkyard Band and the Backyard Band. One-man band Bob Log III plays the Metro Gallery with The Pork Torta and Judge Mental. Baltimore psych-rock band Hollywood Blanks performs at the Windup Space. Japanese avant-metal band Boris headlines the 9:30 Club in Washington. 

SUNDAY: Ohio pop-punk band Everyone Leaves plays Charm City Art Space with Liotta and Here Comes Quincy. Canadian hard-rock band Black Stone Cherry headlines Rams Head Live. 

MONDAY: The Windup Space hosts The Mellow Mix, an open mic and social mixer open to singers, rappers, poets, and more. Don’t miss: Veteran Arizona cowpunk band The Supersuckers plays Baltimore Soundstage. 

TUESDAY: L.A. punk band Stanley And The Search performs at the Charm City Art Space with No Tide, Changing Scene, and more. R&B piano man John Legend plays his blockbuster ballad 'All Of Me' and other hits at Pier Six Pavilion, with Marsha Ambrosius opening. The Out Of Your Head Collective presents two sets of free improvisation at the Windup Space. Atlanta noise rock band Whores plays the Metro Gallery with American Sharks and Passage Between. Nevada straight edge punk band 7 Seconds, still going after 34 years, plays the Ottobar with The Copyrights. Don’t miss: Long-running local reggae band Jah Works plays WYPR’s Concerts in Patterson Park series of outdoor shows. 

WEDNESDAY: Sunset Strip glam rockers Faster Pussycat play Fishhead Cantina with Two-Fisted Bettie and Broken Choice. Local band The Kings of Crownsville plays with a jazzy New Orleans flavor at The Cabaret at Germano’s. Baltimore jamtronica band DELTAnine plays the 8x10.
