Although there were ten non-fatal shootings recorded, it was another slow week for homicides in Baltimore. Police also arrested one man for attempted murder and booked another for murder. Last year by this date there were 138 murders.

11:16 p.m. Rashan Brian Middleton, a 22-year-old African-American man, was on the 3300 block of Dorithian Road when someone shot him in the head. Medics took him to a hospital where he died at 2:45 a.m. Middleton lived a block away on the 4000 block of Edgewood Road. It’s the second murder in the East Arlington neighborhood this year.

Saturday, July 26

3:35 p.m. Two men were shot on the 2200 block of West Saratoga Street. One of them, Sarawak Cardoso L. Fultze II, a 43-year-old African-American man, was hit in the head, chest, and leg and died soon after at a hospital. The other victim was shot in the arm and leg and required surgery. This was the second murder this year in the Penrose/Fayette Street Outreach neighborhood.

UPDATES

Police charged Timothy Brice on July 21 with the July 14 attempted murder of an 18-year-old man on the 1400 block of North Monroe Street. Police say Brice shot the victim once in the elbow. Witnesses led police to Brice and the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested him.
On July 23 police charged Justin Lewis, a 28-year-old African-American man, with the July 20 stabbing murder of Gregory Nealy on the 1200 block of East Lafayette Avenue. Patrol officers and homicide detectives made the collar, police said. Lewis is being held without bail on murder and weapons charges.
