The Baltimore Sun gave out its annual "Mobbies" awards on Wednesday night and noted meteorologist and climate science denier Justin Berk, winner for Best Twitter Account and Best Facebook Page, gave an especially odd acceptance speech, below. It was recorded and made its way to Twitter via @CityThatBreeds.
In it Berk brags about his social media accomplishments before going off about an "imposter" Twitter account, suggesting that the person behind it was in attendance, and adding that "it got so bad I had to hire an attorney," but that he was taking "the high road" before ending his remarks by quoting Taylor Swift and grabbing his crotch.
The Quinton Report reposted Berk's "Mobbies Meltdown," noting that the "imposter" feed that Berk is raving about, @notjustinberk, is very clearly a parody account, with such brutal attacks as this:
It's frankly something a C-list local celebrity like Berk should probably be honored to have. "I suspect Berk taking the high road is because his lawyer told him he wouldn't have a leg to stand on if he were to sue," Quinton writes. "I'm not sure Berk is deserving of Best Twitter Account if he doesn't understand parody accounts."
