No murders were reported from Sunday, Aug. 4 until Sunday, Aug. 11. That was the longest stretch without a murder since March, when, after a spate of multiple killings, the city saw almost nine full days with no murders, between March 19 and 28. In May 2011 Baltimore went 11 days without a killing, which was described as the longest murderless stretch in years.
That's not to say the city was without violence. There were 11 non-fatal shootings reported during the week, including a man who was shot in the neck on the 3900 block of South Hanover Street just before 2
on Aug. 6. He was taken to a hospital and his condition was unknown.
