Rye Rye continues to reap the rewards of her Interscope debut album, Go! Pop! Bang!, over a year after its release. She was nominated for the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category at the 2013 BET Awards, which airs on June 30. Also out this week: R&B singer Chrisette Michele's new album, Better, which features an appearance from rising Baltimore hip-hop artist Kenton Dunson. The album's closing track, "Can the Cool Be Loved?" features both Dunson and Bilal. Dunson will also be opening for Chicago's Chance the Rapper at Hot 97's Who's Next? showcase at SOB's in New York on June 20.
Baltimore producer J. Oliver also recently landed his first major-label album credit with the track "I Told Em" on French Montana's new album, Excuse My French, out in May. J. Oliver is a frequent collaborator of French Montana's Bad Boy Records labelmate Los, who also appears on "Ocho Cinco," a bonus track on the album's deluxe edition. J.
