released Jennifer Conyers' cause of death. Firefighters went to a fire at the 32-year-old African-American woman's house in the 5700 block of Highgate Drive on Feb. 8. Conyers was found in the basement bound with eletrical cords and tape. She was suffering from head trauma. Initially police were unable to say if Conyers died before the fire or during it. Police have now confirmed that Conyers died from the head trauma and was dead before the fire started. Monte Carter, a 38-year-old African-American man, has been arrested and charged with her murder.
