Two murders have also been added to the 2009 homicide total, making that year’s number 240 instead of 238. One was the murder of Mia Nichols, a 37-year-old African-American woman. Nichols’ skeleton was found in Baltimore County on Sept. 26, 2009. She had been shot twice in the head. It was later determined that Nichols was actually murdered in her apartment in the 3900 block of West Forest Park Avenue in Baltimore City on Oct. 31, 2008. Her boyfriend, Tyrone Webb Jr., a 31-year-old African-American man, this year was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years.
