Lorde, the 17-year-old New Zealand pop singer best known for the anti-materialistic hit song "Royals," will headline this year's Infield Fest at Preakness, held May 17 at Pimlico Race Course during the second leg of the Triple Crown. "Royals" racked up two Grammy awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, but the awards show is perhaps most memorable for 2013 InfieldFest co-headliners Macklemore and Ryan Lewis winning Best Rap Album. Give credit where it is due: InfieldFest has come a long ways since the first rendition featuring Buckcherry and ZZ Top. With Bruno Mars in 2011, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis last year, and now Lorde, the Maryland Jockey Club has managed to book some of the biggest stars in pop music for its infield party. Now if they could just get a legitimate Triple Crown threat for those of us who care about what actually happens during the race.
