It's officially summer, and longer days and warmer nights mean finding any excuse to be outside. What could be a better nighttime entertainment choice than hanging out in a park or parking lot? Hanging out in a park or parking with free movies! With five local outdoor movie festivals happening throughout the summer, you could be watching a different film almost every night.
Each festival seemingly has a theme: Music buffs can head to Wyman Park Dell, families can gather at AVAM's Flicks From The Hill, high school nostalgia seekers can congregate for Union Craft Brewery's "School's Out" celebrations, and Italians (both in blood and at heart) will feel at home with Little Italy's Open Air Firm Fest.
And you have your pick in terms of genre and subject matter. You've got your sex-crazed humor with American Pie, your fluffy musical with West Side Story, your mobster classic with The Godfather II, and even your self-help journey to find yourself with Eat Pray Love.
No matter what you like to watch, you'll be able to find something throughout these festivals – Films On The Pier even has a whole schedule still to be released. Bring friends, family, or even just your trusty lawn chair, and sit back, relax, and enjoy the balmy Baltimore night. Make sure to pack the bug spray, because these festivals will be worth the bites.
