Bmore supergroup with members of Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, and Ponytail to play surprise Metro Gallery show tonight

Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks, the newest side project from Animal Collective's Dave Portner, are playing a surprise show tonight at Metro Gallery. Not much is known about the group, which announced its formation in April and also includes Angel Deradoorian, formerly of Dirty Projectors, and Jeremy Hyman, formerly of Ponytail and the Dan Deacon Ensemble, but this description is, well, something else: "A group of three hippies on a road trip through the backwaters of 2013s rural music scene fall prey to a murderous cannibalistic band making out of a leather-masked guitar wielding Avey Tare (Himself, Animal Collective), his knife-wielding keyboard player Angel Deradoorian (Deradoorian, Dirty Projectors) , and their cannibal chief drummer and decaying grandfather Jeremy Hyman (Ponytail, Boredoms, Dan Deacon)." ATSF had previously announced tour dates in Brooklyn and the UK for later this month, but tonight's show will be its first. Doors are at 10 p.m.
