Beer and Pirates

Looking for a way to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day? (And really, who isn't?) This Friday, Sept. 19, from 7 to 10 p.m., the folks at Clipper City Brewing, who know a thing or two about pirates (or at least pirate marketing) are hoisting--er, hosting--a celebration on site at the brewery (4615 Hollins Ferry Road, Halethorpe, [410] 247-7822) that includes beer, a souvenir pint glass, and music from the Salty Dogs, which Hugh Sisson describes in his newsletter as "a three piece pirate band." Dressing like Jack Sparrow is optional, but if you do, you'll be privy to a sample of a special cask version of Clipper City's Winter Storm. $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
