Quick Sketches, July 9 and 10

And so it starts: The weekend prior to Artscape is the most jam-packed weekend of gallery openings of the summer, and increasingly one of the busiest gallery hopping opportunities of the year. More than 10 opening receptions are going on this weekend-and that's not counting the opening of the Jessica Walton and Sarada Conaway-curated See You Again Last Year exhibition at CCBC Catonsville Gallery that we were unable to make it to Wednesday evening. So take a deep breath and put your best gallery hopping shoes on. Here goes it.

Thursday, July 9¬with opening receptions from 6-8 p.m.
origins and interrelationships, featuring Marcia Wolfson Ray, Bill Schmidt and Anita Walsh, opens at the gallery at Stevenson University. Local Color, featuring Alyssa Dennis, Megan Hildebrandt, Christine Sajecki, and Gary Thompson, opens at Towson University's Center for the Arts Gallery. And Genesis of Form, featuring sculpture MFA candidates from from Towson University, Maryland Institute College of Art, and the University of Maryland College Park, opens at Towson University's Holtzman Gallery.
