Luna Death Likely Not Before Grand Jury

Baltimore Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Luna's perplexing 2003 death was reported by Yardbird Books in late May to be the current subject of a federal grand jury investigation ("Federal Grand Jury Investigating Death of Jonathan Luna?" News Hole, May 29). Turns out, that's probably not the case, according to subsequent, substantial reporting by former CP staff writer Jeffrey Anderson, writing for the federal crime blog, ticklethewire.com. In his recap of the case, Anderson gives peeks at law enforcers' and Baltimore TV reporter Jayne Miller's views of Luna's death in a Pennsylvania stream, giving a birds-eye view of investigative angles while also debunking Yardbird's story, despite evidence in the form of a county prosecutor's letter that denies a Yardbird information request, citing an open grand-jury probe.
