Green beer not your thing? How about green wine? I admit, when I first heard about The Wine Market's (921 E. Fort Ave., [410]244-6166) St. Patrick's Day "green wine" tasting, I figured they were riffing on green as "organic." But nope, instead the restaurant is celebrating the wines of Portugal including the delightfully, spritzy and simple vinho verde, Portugal's "green wine," named for its freshness, not its color. It's not Irish, but then neither are most of us, no matter what the St. Patrick's Day promoters will tell you.

The tasting runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight, includes artisan cheese and light appetizers, and will run you $29. Call the Wine Market for more details. Slainte!
