Since the news today is mostly procedural--some prison guards fired, slots bill moves a step--and no one's at work anyway due to the snow, I'm just gonna look for all the earthquake stories (that one's from WBAL) I can find. The Sun story gets points for talking to someone from Dundalk Midde School, pretty much the quake's epicenter. (The facts: magnitude 2.0, 9:22 a.m., with the epicenter 5.5 miles beneath Dundalk.) Here's the USGS's map of the "event." And another one.
The Annapolis Capital story gets its points by interviewing folks at Ann's Dari-Creme in Glen Burnie. Anyway, Washington Post (did you know the local seismograph is at the Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area near Owings Mills?), AP, Washington Times, and WJZ.
For a historical perspective, check out this Charmed Life classic, "No Great Shakes," by Brennen Jensen, from the City Paper vault (growing up, the Third Floor remembers a couple small quakes in Columbia). And here's the Maryland Geological Survey's report on yesterday's quakes (the other, even tinier ones were centered in Essex and Rosedale).
