With the national spotlight on the next step in California Chrome's Triple Crown run at Pimlico this Saturday, Woodberry Kitchen's Spike Gjerde hopes to keep the celebration rolling when he hosts a post-race party for those who want to follow up one of Baltimore's most cherished events with grub from one of its most notable chefs. The Winner's Circle Wind Down will follow the 139
running of The Preakness at Belvedere Square, where tickets ($100/per person or $300/per foursome) will score guests a cookout focusing on the "best from the Belvedere Market" and Chesapeake watershed, old school Maryland cocktails from Shoo-Fly (
we hope), a cigar bar, dessert, and dancing to live jazz and swing music from Lapis Luna. With the price of those tickets we're thinking the outdoor soirée won't include a running of the urinals—bummer. Preakness attire is encouraged—think floppy hats and bright bowties—for the event, which runs from 7-11PM with a portion of the proceeds going to the Oyster Recovery Partnership.
