[caption id="attachment_20619" align="alignright" width="300"]Brewmore. Brewmore.[/caption] Rich Guzzi is a stand-up comedian, motivational speaker, and, um, hypnotist? Yes, a hypnotist. He manages to combine all of these things into one act, which he'll be performing at Baltimore Comedy tonight and through the weekend. There's an X-rated show on Saturday at 11:15 p.m., and an "Extreme XXX-Rated Show" on Sunday at 7 p.m. Is that basically an onstage orgy? By now most Baltimoreans are familiar with the city's booming craft brewery scene, including Union Craft, Heavy Seas, Brewer's Art, and Stillwater Artisanal Ales. But did you know about the history of brewing in Charm City? The new documentary Brewmore looks at all of these and more. Catch a screening tonight at MICA's Brown Center at 7:45 p.m. Read our Q&A with director Nick Kovacic here. From the Short List: "Corinthia Cromwell and the Evolution Band perform gospel jazz at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Wisconsin's Absolutely plays the Charm City Art Space with Eyelet. The long-running and perennially tacky Mindless Self Indulgence headlines Rams Head Live with Kamikaze Kupcakes and Bunny the Bear. Norwegian death-metal band Obliteration, on tour in the States, plays Metro Gallery with local openers Cemetery Piss. Don't miss: Local jazz trio Thumbscrew, who recently received a rave review in Downbeat, performs at the Windup Space."
