Earlier today, City Paper published an anonymous memo said to be written "on behalf of most of the Administrators, Principals and Assistant Principals of Baltimore City Public Schools" that was highly critical of interim schools CEO Tisha Edwards, suggesting she was unfit to lead the school system, and Jimmy Gittings Jr., president of administrators union (Public School Administrators and Supervisors Association, or PSASA), who supports Edwards. Reached on his cell phone, Gittings Jr. said "that letter is despicable," and suggested that the individual who wrote it is afraid of losing his or her job. "There is no question in my mind that the person who wrote that letter is not doing their job properly and is scared of losing their job under a Ms. Edwards administration," he said. He forwarded the PSASA executive board's official response to the memo, which is below. The response was issued on May 23rd, when the board first became aware of the memo.
