About 14 months ago a dude called all his car buddies to meet at the mall on Shawan Road off I-83 for "cars and coffee" early on a Saturday. Come hotrods, come muscle cars, come tuners, come with your Ferraris, he said, come with your little British sports cars. Come with your Hemi-powered Jeep SUVs that run 11 seconds in the quarter mile. And they did. Soon it grew into a thing called Hunt Valley Horsepower. On the one year anniversary of that first meeting, on March 15th, dude counted 850 cars. Tomorrow, June 1, is the next Big Meet. The event is announced on
But starting tomorrow will have its own dedicated web site, Horsepowering.com. So if you've got something motorized that you're proud of (or you just want to gawk), and you're not sleeping late tomorrow, the Hunt Valley Towne Centre is as good a place to be as any between 6:30 and 10 am. There's Caribou Coffee, a Panera, etc. for breakfast. No burnouts, please.
