Baltimore gets a sad mention in this Columbia Journalism Review dispatch about the decline of statehouse and city hall reporting. It keys off a year-old report by Steven Waldman, who cites "A Pew survey of 52 Baltimore old and new media outlets [that] showed that 83 percent of the 715 stories they produced were actually the aggregated, recycled, or reblogged work of the beleaguered old guard, mostly The Baltimore Sun." (The Pew survey, linked here, dates from 2010). There's a video link on the CJR, explaining What You Can Do About It. The video was done by the company that made Al Gore a movie star.
