It's no secret that the music industry can't provide artists with what they used to. These days, artists are booking their own tours, making their own merch, releasing their own music—sometimes while being signed to a record label. The best labels right now are the ones that recognize the power of artists and are willing to come together for partnerships, whether in the form of a distribution deal or a collaboration. Baltimore's Araçá Records is great at those things. Label owner J.R. Fritsch is clearly a fan of trippy, genre-bending, experimental music. Just check out the 45s he's put out: Abdu Ali, Little Flowers, MRC Riddims, and more. Araçá makes music fun. If it likes it, it rides for it. Can't ask for much more.
