This intimate little establishment accomplished the nigh impossible when it opened in the summer of 2013: It made fans of grilled and skewered yumminess no longer mourn the closing of Famous Yakitori One, which used to occupy this ground floor Maryland Avenue space. Credit the bar's impeccably simple aesthetic. It does a few things well—both its specialty cocktails and food menus are modest, and it keeps the vibe chill. Live music, when present, doesn't overpower your ability to have a casual conversation, and recent renovations have spruced the place without trumping its welcoming coziness. An ideal place to unwind.
