The Y asked Miss Linda if she could sub in to teach line dancing for a couple of months, and though all she knew was the Wobble, she said, 'Sure, why not?' Five years later she is still learning new dances from YouTube to teach to a committed group of line dancing fanatics twice a week. Where most fitness classes teach skills that are only useful in, well, fitness classes, this one prepares its pupils for those occasions where a line dance is prone to break out: weddings, bachelorette parties, outdoor music festivals, or anywhere music might play and where three or more are gathered. The class is accessible to folks of all fitness levels, and a sense of rhythm is absolutely not a requirement, though dancing with some flair definitely increases the cardio burn and will earn the approving nods of fellow dancers. The class is an hour long, and as Miss Linda always says, "You don't have to go home, but you have to get outta here." Club Y is where it's at, people.
