Murder Ink: 9 murders this week; 85 murders this year

Bad week. Along with the nine murders that kept the city's pace at near one per day, city police non-fatally shot three people. Dedric Colvin, a 14-year-old African-American boy, was carrying a BB gun that looked like a real pistol. Alex Brizzi, a 25 year-old Caucasian man was claiming to have a bomb, and an unidentified man with a handgun—unloaded, it turns out—who police say, pointed it at a cop sitting in a car in an alley in Northwest Baltimore. Police also announced they had seized guns from nine people, including two from 15-year-old boys.
