Six more people fell to gunfire in Baltimore City this week. Four were shot by criminals, and so count as homicides; two were shot by police, who may have stopped a homicide by killing a father and son as they exited their vehicle with guns. The police, who fired 56 unanswered shots at the men, were reportedly given Miranda warnings, so things may change. As of April 3 last year Baltimore had seen 52 murders—six less than this year. In 2014 there had been 45 murders by that date.
