Spotlight: Johnson, Dufner a winning combo again

Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner go as well together as peanut butter and jelly.

Said Dufner: “We have very similar games, very similar demeanors.”

Added Johnson: “We think the same. Our mentalities are the same. The only difference today is that Duf carried me.”

Dufner made a 6-foot birdie on No. 2, hit the green on the 248-yard 13th and came through on the 193-yard 17th by hitting a 6-iron to the back fringe. That effort on 17 proved huge when Nicolas Colsaerts, with his team 1-down, dunked his tee shot into Lake Kadijah. Colsaerts called that moment “pretty painful.”

Johnson iced the match by lagging a difficult sidehill putt on 17 to tap-in range. The victory made Johnson and Dufner 2-0 in alternate shot.
