Lady Gaga postpones concerts in Chicago

Lady Gaga announced Tuesday that she’s postponing shows Wednesday and Thursday at the United Center, as well as subsequent concerts in Detroit and Hamilton, Ontario, because of an injury.

“I am completely devastated and heartsick,” the singer said on her Twitter account and website. “I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now.”

The injury was described as synovitis, or severe inflammation of the joints, which Gaga said has caused her "chronic pain."

"It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry," she added.

The shows will be rescheduled and fans are advised to retain their tickets, according to the singer’s Web site. Refunds will be available at point of purchase.
