How are American's pinching pennies? Well, some are packing workday lunches and skipping a.m. java stops according to a new Harris Poll cited in Convenience Store News.
Of the 2,163 adults polled last month, 46 percent say they're packing lunches from home (up a bit from similar February poll that found 45 doing so) and 21 percent have stopped buying an a.m. coffee as a way to cut expenses. They've also apparently cut back on buying lots of bottles of water, with 39 percent of those polled telling the Harris surveyers that they're using refillable water bottles.
How are you cutting expenses? Packing lunches more often? Brewing coffee at home or your desk?
