Three people with serious injuries were taken to area hospitals after the vehicle they were riding in collided with several trees early Wednesday morning on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Jessup.
When rescue personnel arrived at the parkway at Route 32 shortly after midnight, they found two people trapped in the vehicle and another who had been ejected, fire department spokesman Capt. Michael Pfaltzgraff said.
It took firefighters 15 minutes to rescue the two victims from the vehicle.
Two men estimated to be in their early 20s were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Only one of the men was suffering from life-threatening injuries, Pfaltzgraff said.
A third victim was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, Pfaltzgraff said. He could not provide an age or gender of that person.
U.S. Park Police are investigating the crash, agency spokesman Sgt. Paul Brooks said.
