Want to taste some of your neighbor's best chili dishes?
Join the members of St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 Washburn Ave., for its chili cook-off from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 9.
"Last year was the first, and was very successful so we are going to try again," event co-chairwoman Claudia Hickman said.
The contestants will cook their best recipes for customers to taste before voting for their favorites.
"I have 10 people that are making chili," Hickman said. "They are all excited to see where their dish will place."
Judging will be done by the customers who pay $5 to get a ballot and a chance to sample of each recipe.
"The rest is up to the taste buds of the voter," Hickman said.
The event is eat-in only, but for an additional $5, people can get a bowl of their favorite chili along with a serving of corn bread and a drink.
Prizes and ribbon will be given out to the first-, second- and third-place winners.
A special basket raffle also will be held. Ticket's cost $1. There also will be a chance to win gift cards to local store and many other great gifts.
"It's a fun day with lots of great chili dishes," Hickman said.
