Kevin Dayhoff

Kevin Dayhoff writes about history and current events for the Carroll County Times. He is a Carroll County native, artist, retired farmer, and former appointed and elected official. Over the years Kevin has written for a number of publications, including the Baltimore Sun, The Advocate, and most recently the Carroll Eagle. In 2009 he won a MDDC Press Association award for editorial critical thinking. He volunteers for the Westminster Vol. Fire Department as the public information office and chaplain. He lives in Westminster with his wife Caroline.
Dayhoff: Carroll County native Singh called a visionary by governor and an appointment he is ‘most proud of’

Singh spent much of her childhood in the Westminster, Frederick, and Carroll County area. Singh mentioned in her presentation last Saturday that she enlisted in the Army while she was homeless, at age 17.

Dayhoff: My first grade teacher Belle Fringer, the wife of a hero, the mother of a hero, and my hero

It was not until later in life that I learned that not only was Fringer an amazing teacher, but she was also a true American hero, who quietly endured great sacrifices for our country.
