The NBA All-Star Ben Simmons is making moves off the court. He’s selling his fancy apartment at the Ritz-Carlton Residences for $3.1 million, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The Philadelphia 76ers guard has asked to be traded and seems determined to cut some of his Philly ties.
The three-time All Star picked up the combined-unit condo in 2018 for $2.54 million.
A spacious 3,079 square feet, the swanky spread in the high-rise offers three bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and views of City Hall.
The family room is now anchored by an oversized, custom-made couch. The adjacent dining area features a wall of wine storage, a dining table, and a stylish light fixture.
The dining area flows to the high-end chef’s kitchen, designed with a glass-tile backsplash, wood cabinets, and Viking and Sub-Zero appliances. A center island has room for bar seating, a perfect perch for keeping a cook company.
In the master wing, the large bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows, a sitting area, a walk-in closet, and a custom-made, king-sized bed. The en suite bathroom features a soaking tub and separate shower. Other perks of the apartment include a laundry room and a media room.
The interior furnishings, most in a creamy palette, were custom-made, the listing notes.
Amenities galore come with life at the Ritz. Along with two parking spots, with two more available, residents also enjoy access to the Ritz Hotel services, including valet parking, chauffeur service, use of the fitness center, pool, and yoga room, and access to a landscaped park. The pet-friendly building also has an on-site dog run.
If the Australian-born player bounces from the City of Brotherly Love, he’ll also need to decide what to do with his 10,000-square-foot mansion in Moorestown, NJ.
The dual U.S.-Australian citizen was selected as the first overall pick in the 2016 draft by the 76ers. In 2018, he was named NBA Rookie of the Year. At 24, he can well afford his pricey properties: He signed a five-year, $170 million contract with the Sixers in 2019—a deal that is likely to finish out in a new NBA city.
