Prospective homebuyers could snag a $5,000 incentive Saturday during Live Baltimore's "Buying into Baltimore" event.
Beginning at 8 a.m. at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, attendees will go on a tour around city neighborhoods including Hunting Ridge, Hanlon-Longwood, Edmondson Village, Rognel Heights, Uplands, Franklintown, Dickeyville, Howard Park, Dorchester, Callaway-Garrison, Ashburton and Woodberry. The event will also include workshops and exhibitors from the city housing department, State of Maryland, neighborhood groups and real estate industry, according to a release.
"For me, the Trolley Tour is one of the best days of the year," Annie Milli, executive director of Live Baltimore, wrote in an email. "Not only are we connecting homebuyers to real estate professionals and educating them on the process, we're showing them the neighborhoods we love."
Live Baltimore, a nonprofit that promotes city living, is hosting the event in partnership with city housing. Those who attend will be eligible to apply for a $5,000 incentive for down payment and closing cost assistance on a home — as long as it's located in the city. The 30 available incentives are rewarded based on a lottery system, according to Live Baltimore's website.
There are additional requirements and restrictions for the incentive that can be found on livebaltimore.com.
