Two Baltimore real estate companies — O’Conor & Mooney and Chase Fitzgerald & Co. — on Wednesday said they are merging.
The joint firm will operate under the new name O’Conor, Mooney & Fitzgerald.
The company will have 68 agents with three principals: Sean O’Conor, Tom Mooney, and Carol Schmidt.
The deal will give the two firms a greater reach in the Baltimore-area housing market.
O’Conor & Mooney has worked extensively in northern Baltimore County.
Founded in 1936 by Schmidt’s grandmother, Dorothy L. Fitzgerald, Chase Fitzgerald has long served the neighborhoods of Homeland, Guilford and Roland Park in Baltimore.
“Like us, they believe that independence and local ownership allow us to serve our customers better,” said Sean O’Conor, who served as president of O’Conor & Mooney, in a statement. “While coming together provides us greater market presence, it also provides an opportunity to preserve the legacies of two venerable Baltimore firms.”
