Graham Packaging Co. LP plans to close its Baltimore location this year, according to a notice filed with the state.
About 79 people will lose jobs as a result of the closure, with the first layoffs occurring in April and a second round in June, the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation said Tuesday.
The company, which makes plastic containers for consumer products, did not respond to requests for comment. In August, it held a groundbreaking for a new facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky to support a nearby Sun Products plant.
Sun Products, which makes detergent and other goods, relocated its Baltimore operations to Bowling Green in 2014.
