The sixth annual Money Power Day that offers everything from guidance on foreclosure prevention and college aid to buying a home and starting a business will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will be held at the Poly-Western High School, 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore.
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and U.S. Congressman Elijah Cummings will be attending the opening ceremony that starts at 9:30 a.m.
Among the attractions: Workshops on buying a home, starting a business, basic investing and other topics. A Credit Café and Benefits Zone that offers free credit reports, one-on-one credit counseling and information on where to get public benefits. Financial activities for those age 5 to 18. An exhibitor hall featuring 45 nonprofits, businesses and government groups that will provide financial services, information and education on-site.
You can also get free tax preparation if you’re income is under $49,000. Plus, if you don’t have a shredder, you can bring documents to be shredded.
