Maryland's two casinos in February brought in $12.1 million in revenue, a 12 percent increase over the previous month, according to state officials.
Most of the increase occurred at the Hollywood Casino in Perryville in Cecil County, which brought in $9 million last month. The casino generated $7.7 million the month before.
The Casino at Ocean Downs near Ocean City generated $3.1 million, up slightly from the $3 million it made in January.
The Hollywood Casino, which opened in September, and the Casino at Ocean Downs, which opened in January, have generated a total of $50.5 million so far. Nearly half the money goes into the state's education trust fund. The rest is distributed among the casino and horse-racing industry, the Maryland Lottery, and small, minority and women-owned businesses in the state.
