Construction is about to begin on a $33 million residential, office and retail development called 1111 Light Street. Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake attended a ceremonial groundbreaking today for the project, planned for a one-acre parcel bounded by Light, Cross, Weber and William streets in South Baltimore.
Scheduled for completion in the spring of 2012, the development is to include 93 luxury apartments, 22,000 square feet of office space, 6,000 square feet of retail space and 106 parking spaces. The project is expected to generate about 300 construction jobs and 100 permanent jobs.
