Maryland's Technology Development Corp., an independent state agency that funds growth of technology businesses, said Tuesday it has awarded $1.1 million to 15 Maryland startup companies.
Each company received about $75,000 as part of a program designed to foster the transfer of research and technology from state universities and federal labs to the marketplace. The technologies include clean-energy transmission, medical devices and therapeutic drugs.
Six of the companies are based in Baltimore: Amidus LLC, Cognapse LLC, Pearl LifeScience Partners LLC, Plasmonix Inc., Quantum Medical Metrics LLC and SAJE Pharma LLC.
