An Anne Arundel County construction contractor was awarded this week a $30.7 million contract from the National Park Service to rebuild the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.
Corman Construction Inc., a fourth-generation family-owned business based in Annapolis Junction, won the contract, which was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The firm will begin the project later this year, and work is expected to last for 18 months, with more than 60 employees taking part in the effort.
Corman will rebuild the pool, install a water cleansing and lighting system, and rehabilitate the walkways around the pool.
