AOBA chooses Constellation unit as supplier of energy services

The AOBA Alliance Inc., which helps businesses buy energy services, said Tuesday it has selected Constellation NewEnergy, a subsidiary of Constellation Energy Group, as its energy services supplier.

The alliance, which provides energy to non-residential electricity and natural gas customers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, said it has the potential to become the largest retail customer of Constellation NewEnergy.

The alliance, a subsidiary of the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington, enables the Washington region's building owners and managers to use collective buying power to save on energy costs. Constellation NewEnergy will provide alliance participants with services such as electricity and natural gas supply, renewable power and energy efficiency programs. The company is active in all competitive markets in the U.S. and is the supplier to two-thirds of the Fortune 100 businesses.
