Consuming Interests: What happened to the old Orioles seats?

(From the Consuming Interests blog)

They've gone south, so to speak. Some of the seats removed from Camden Yards as part of the ballpark's new makeover are taking a trip to Sarasota, home of Baltimore Orioles spring training.

Just so happens that the facilities there are also getting a multimillion dollar makeover. The update of the Ed Smith Stadium will include a new Orioles retail store, picnic area, a Boog's BBQ (cheers!) and upgraded seating with shade (more cheers!), according to Sarasota tourism officials. The additional seating includes some that used to be in Camden Yards. The seats are being refurbished in traditional dark green with the Orioles' insignia and will help increase the spring break facility's capacity to 9,000.

The stadium update is expected to be ready to go for the Orioles' March 1 spring training opener against Tampa Bay. So you can plan a visit to see your old seat.
