A senior vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine will help lead strategic decisions and results for the United Way of Central Maryland, the nonprofit announced Tuesday.
Patricia M.C. Brown, who is also president of Johns Hopkins HealthCare LLC, will serve as chairwoman of the organization's board of directors. Brown's chairwomanship comes as the nonprofit also brings three new members onto its board of directors and 20 new members onto its local community partnership boards.
"We are fortunate to tap into the talents and leadership qualities of these exemplary professionals," said Mark Furst, president of United Way of Central Maryland. "They will help guide our organization as we focus on advancing education, income and health for those most vulnerable in our community."
Brown has been active with the United Way for more than a decade, including service on the board of directors, Women's Leadership Council and Tocqueville Society.
The members new to the board are Donald G. Kohlhafer, senior vice president for Bank of America; Patricia Lambert, principal at Pessin Katz Law; and Jennifer N. Lockhart, a practice administrator at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.
