Time to get a Powerball ticket. Wednesday's jackpot has reached $235 million.

The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $235 million after nobody won the top prize in Saturday's drawing.

Wednesday's jackpot has a cash option of $148.7 million.

Jackpots start at an estimated $40 million and tickets cost $2 each. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night.

The state lottery commission also announced on Wednesday that that the lucky winner of last weekend's $1 million Mega Millions game has claimed his ticket. He is second $1 million Mega Millions winner in Maryland this year. The game is played in 46 states and jurisdictions.

The winner was only publicly identified as an Owings Mills resident, U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and father of four. He told lottery officials he plans to share his winnings with his family and nonprofits, including the Diggs-Johnson Museum in Granite, a historic African-American church that has recently been restored.

He purchased the winning ticket Friday night at the Giant grocery store at 9730 Groffs Mill Drive, which receives a $2,500 bonus from the state lottery.
