A man died in a boating accident on Jennings Randolph Lake in Western Maryland on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The man, whose identity wasn't immediately released, was boating on the lake in Garrett County with a woman about 3 p.m., when the boat began going in circles, said Capt. Brian Albert, a Maryland Natural Resources Police spokesman.
The woman was able swim to shore, but the man died at the scene, he said.
"We don't know if it was a medical emergency or if he drowned," Albert said.
The investigation is continuing, and no additional details were available as of Wednesday evening.
