ZeroFOX acquires Chile-based security technology company

Federal Hill cyber security company ZeroFOX has acquired Chile-based technology company Vulnr. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vulnr specializes in "stealth mode" technology that ZeroFOX will apply to assessing risks and vulnerabilities to cyber attacks via social media, company officials said Wednesday. Federal Hill-based ZeroFOX helps government and defense clients protect their networks from hackers who might try to invade through employees' social media accounts.

As part of the deal, Vulnr founder Mike Price has joined ZeroFOX as senior director of research and development.

Before founding Vulnr, Price was an executive at San Francisco mobile security company Appthority, and before that established and oversaw McAfee Labs' first research and development site in Latin America, in Santiago, Chile.
