Baltimore ad firm Warschawski will promote Xcel Brands' "quick-time-response" fashion model

Baltimore advertising and marketing firm Warschawski has become agency of record for Xcel Brands Inc., owner of Isaac Mizrahi, Judith Ripka, H Halston, and other brands, and will handle corporate public relations.

New York-based Xcel promotes and sells its branded products online, at stores and through QVC direct-response television. Xcel reported nearly $500 million in annual sales last year.

Terms of the deal with Warschawski were not disclosed.

Warschawski will help promote Xcel's "quick-time response" fashion business model, which helps brands and retailers identify fashion trends early on, then quickly produce more of those styles.

"They have brought designers and technical designers, production line folks, retail reps...and other parties that are crucial to getting products made and in store all in-house in the New York office," said Shana Harris, Warschawski's COO. "This is very unique in the industry and is an act-as-one approach that helps Xcel deliver goods to consumers when they want it and faster than traditional models."

Xcel was founded in 2011 by Robert D'Loren.
